Katy Perry makes 100m Twitter followers

Katy Perry First To Reach 100 Million Twitter Followers

Katy Perry Reaches Record 100M Twitter Followers

Time for all the Katy Perry fans to let out a collective celebratory roar because they have helped the "Chain To The Rhythm" songstress become the first person to surpass 100 million followers on Twitter. Meanwhile, singer Justin Bieber is not far behind with nearly 97 million followers. "#LoveKaty", the official Twitter account wrote. That's a 10 percent increase from what the CEO initially claimed.

Twitter users congratulated the star for her milestone.

Over the years, Perry has amassed an impressive number of awards, including five American Music Awards, five Billboard Music Awards, five MTV Video Music Awards, and 14 People's Choice Awards, among many others. When she's not busy writing one-liners or shady subtweets about Swift, she inspires her millions of followers with her personal philosophy.

The Twitter record isn't Katy's only social media record, either.

Her Witness tour in the U.S. and Canada kicks off on September 9 and runs through February 2018.

Her latest album, "Witness", marks Perry's first album since 2013 and comes after the artist largely retreated for a year following the blockbuster success of her "Prism" album and tour. During the event, her followers watched as she lived in the Big Brother house and did everything from eating to hanging out with her famous friends.
