Show based on Cher's life headed to Broadway

The legend is finally getting her very own Broadway musical-and it'll be based on her life and songs.

"Just got off phone w/Writer & Director of musical". "There will be performance in theatre with actors, dancers, singers..." She tweeted out the news on Tuesday night.

Earlier this year, a staged reading of a musical about Cher's life and career took place. "It'll be on Broadway 2018".

Heading to the stage: The Broadway show will feature some of Cher's biggest hits including I Got You Babe, Believe and If I could Turn Back Time.

"Jersey Boys" writer Rick Elice is also attached, as well as "War Paint" choreographer Christopher Gattelli.

A request for comment from Cher was not immediately returned.

The show will be directed by Jason Moore, who previously controlled the stage musical "Avenue Q" as well as the popular a cappella film "Pitch Perfect", while 'Hamilton's Jeffrey Seller and Flody Suarez are on board to produce. Casting notices in November called for a "Babe, Lady, and Star" representing her three eras, and named other characters in the piece, such as Bob Mackie, David Geffen, Gregg Allman, Robert Altman, Rob Camilletti and Sigmund Freud.

It'll go on to show how she met Sonny Bono in 1962 and went on to become one of the most famous pop duos of the time.

Cher moved to television in the '70s before launching a comeback at the end of the decade.
