The no.2 overall pick in 2007 recounts how the combine did little for him apart from being shamed for his his lack of strength.
The Golden State Warriors forward recently told ESPN a freakish story about being harassed at the pre-draft workouts because he had a weak bench press.
"I said, 'In my sleep, because I wouldn't want to suffer from any pain or anything, so I'd just rather be asleep around my son and my family, '" Mason said.
I was like, 'All right, keep laughing. But I think the one thing that I'm really trying to focus on is just trying to get stronger.
"If I were to go back and [Duval] were to come there it wouldn't affect me", Jackson said of the point guard who is also considering Arizona, Baylor, Kansas and Seton Hall.
Quick to acknowledge he's not a finished product, Mika said his decision will come down to "where I can develop best and quickest so I can contribute to a (NBA) team". He gets mentioned as one of the best athletes in the draft due to his speed, but the point guard's measurables were not on the freakish scale.
His potential role might appear similar next season, with Trier returning and mega-recruit DeAndre Ayton expected to soak up Markkanen's minutes and scoring on a team that could be a No. 1 preseason pick.
"Stay your ass home, work out and get better on your own time", KD said.
"It'd be an honor whoever drafts me, so if that's here then that would be great", Jackson said. And I knew that this wasn't football, where that stuff matters. And I knew that if I worked as hard as I could, then that (expletive) wouldn't matter at the end of the day. It still doesn't matter.
"I watched him last summer at the Jordan Gym in New York City and he made 27 out of 30 National Basketball Association three's", ESPN's Fran Fraschilla said. That tells you a lot about the significance of that (expletive).
That's actually incredibly insightful.
The NBA Draft Combine took place this week in Chicago as the NBA begins to turn its attention quietly to the NBA Draft.
As a former NBA MVP, Durant's comments were a major talking point at the combine, but no player in attendance seemed willing to speak out against the event.
Durant, who admits he was embarrassed 10 years ago when he could not bench press 185 pounds, has some very simple advice for the 2017 draft class. With the number of global players who -went in the first round in 2016, it would not be a surprise to see Jeanne drafted in the top 30.
"I said, 'It depends on where I'm going, '" he said.
But Kevin Durant doesn't think anyone should waste their time at the combine.
Now one thing that people who have never paid much attention to the lottery may not know, (Mavs fans, Spurs fans, etc.), is that the first three picks are the only ones actually put through the lottery.
But numerous Draft's top prospects won't be in attendance.
The Chicago Bulls franchise is in need of a major overhaul if they want to compete anytime soon.
Of the 67 players invited to participate in the combine, many reports have at least five or six skipping part of the activities.
"Athletically, I think they know that he can play in the NBA", Fraschilla said.
