Maruti Suzuki has launched the all-new 2017 Dzire with a price tag that starts at Rs 5.54 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi and goes up all the way to Rs 9.41 lakh for the top-spec diesel vehicle. The claimed fuel efficiency for the petrol engine is 22 km/l and 28.4 km/l for to the diesel engine.

"Maruti Suzuki, together with its suppliers, has invested over Rs 1,000 crore for the development of the all-new Dzire", the statement said. The third generation of the Maruti Suzuki Dzire seems to have gotten quite a reception in India as it has already gathered over 33,000 bookings in just 11 days and yes, that's quite a lot.

Finally the engines. Under the hood you get the 1.2-litre K-Series 4-pot petrol is tuned for 82 bhp and the 1.3-litre DDiS diesel developing 74 bhp.

Powering the new Dzire is the same set of engines that were found on the previous generation model.

Bookings for the new Dzire had been opened earlier this month for a token amount of Rs 11,000 and the company said it has received a strong response for the vehicle.

Maruti Suzuki new generation Dzire has got completely new and fresh look. With the demand of subcompact sedan segment in growing in Indian market rapidly, Maruti Suzuki Dzire is expected to do well for the company. The new Dzire gets projector headlamps with LED DRLs, LED tail lights with a signature light for a distinctive touch, however, this is only available in the top-end VXi/ZXi trim. Both engines come paired with a 5-speed manual and Automated Manual Transmission options. Thanks to its lightweight and high-rigidity body, it strikes a balance between running performance and fuel-efficiency, while meeting safety regulations that are scheduled to be introduced in India.

The base trims for the petrol and diesel cars are LXI and LDI and are offered with manual gearboxes only.

The sedan would be mainly produced at the company's Manesar facility.

The Z trim (ZXi, ZDi) packs in alloy wheels, leather-wrapped steering, rear parking sensors, fog lamps, rear defogger, keyless go, auto climate control and electric retract wing mirrors. Importantly, Maruti is offering the new Dzire with dual airbags, ABS and ISOFIX child seat anchors as standard.
