Almirola's vehicle came to rest near the outside fence, and he appeared to tell safety crews he was OK as they cut the roof off to safely get him out.
The three were involved in the frightening collision with 67 laps left in the Go Bowling 400 at Kansas Speedway in Kansas City, Kan.
Almirola had nowhere to go and barreled right into the scrum created by Logano's and Patrick's crash. Almirola's auto burst into flames, but the heaviest impact came when his Ford launched into the air and slammed down heavily on its rear tires.

Richard Petty Motorsports said in a statement Sunday morning that Almirola suffered a compression fracture to his T5 vertebra - located in the middle of the back. Almirola is scheduled to fly back to his home in Mooresville, N.C., Sunday and will be monitored by doctors in Charlotte this week. As was Logano. Almirola was taken out on a stretcher and transported to a local hospital. I just hope everyone is okay. Logano and Patrick were OK after the accident. "Everything was fine and then [my car] just took a hard right". I hope Aric is OK.
Logano and Patrick were quickly checked and released from the infield care center, however, no further word was given on Almirola's condition besides the fact that he was awake and alert, and in stable condition. "He's definitely feeling the worst of everybody". I kind of felt like Wonder Woman out there for a little while. She was struck by Logano on the 200th lap, sending her into the SAFER-barrier covered wall as the onrushing Almirola careened into Logano. You never know when it is going to be the wrong hit. He won the 2014 summer race at Daytona International Speedway and has 10 career top-five finishes, including two this season - in the Daytona 500 and Talladega Superspeedway last weekend.
