Rafael Nadal Beats Dominic Thiem to Win Record 10th Barcelona Open Title

London:Rafael Nadal survived a hard start to see off Chung Hyeon of South Korea in straight sets and reach the semi-finals of the Barcelona Open for a 10th time.

The Spaniard also claimed his 10th title at the Monte Carlo Masters the previous weekend as he gears up to go for his 10th French Open title later this month.

Rafael Nadal is pretty Happy after the Barcelona title won in the final over Dominic Thiem. "I'm very satisfied".

Ramos-Vinolas, who took a few minutes' rest in the final set to shake off muscle discomfort, was again unable to seize the chance to see off the number one seed, who came out stronger to win the tiebreak. With the win in Barcelona, he's collected 500 more ATP points and is now within 300 points of leader Federer in the ATP Race to London at the ATP Finals tournament at the end of the year.

Thiem was broken in the beginning of both sets but powered his way to victory against Sugita, who was coming off wins against Tommy Robredo, Richard Gasquet, and Pablo Carreno Busta.

Meanwhile, Indian Davis Cupper Ramkumar Ramanathan and Leander Paes have reached the singles and doubles final of the ATP Challenger event in Tallahassee after winning their respective semi- finals. The eight-time tour victor has got good endurance, and he is very good at extending the points in a rally, tiring out his opponents and getting the upper hand in these points. With nine Majors at the venue, the most by any man at Roland Garros, 30-year-old Nadal will hope to make up for an early exit last year.

It took Nadal until the 10th game of the opening set to finally wear his Austrian opponent down, but he needed only one break to take the set 6-4.

Nadal looked set to roll past Zeballos, but he had to save five break points to get the straight-sets win. "The next time I play him I have to change something".

"I'm really enjoying myself", she said.

The ranking points Sharapova has collected mean she is already close to rejoining the top 250 on Monday, and victory in the last four today would guarantee a spot in the top 200.

It was another crowning achievement for the king of clay.
