Bernie Sanders returning to Grand Prairie to rally Democrats against Donald Trump

Former presidential candidate Bernie Sanders will headline a Louisville event aimed at helping re-energize Kentucky's downtrodden Democratic Party.

Only seconds after the mere mention of Senator Bernie Sanders provoked loud cheers at the Democratic party's first "Come Together and Fight Back" event, another man's name yielded immediate boos. The party controls both of the state's U.S. Senate seats, four out of five congressional seats, the governor's office and both chambers of the state legislature. The Vermont senator will be joined by Perez at the event Tuesday, April 18, 2017. Tom Perez, the new chair of the DNC - and Sanders's partner on the so-called "unity tour" - was not welcomed kindly.

Sanders also criticized lawmakers for what he saw as a failure to sufficiently help James Thompson, a civil rights lawyer and veteran, in last week's special election when he ran for the Kansas U.S. House seat vacated by Central Intelligence Agency chief Mike Pompeo.

Bernie Sanders urged Democrats to reach out to President Donald Trump's supporters to promote a progressive agenda that includes guaranteed health care for all Americans as part of a strategy to rebuild the party. Bernie Sanders said Sunday in explaining why he was one of the few senators to oppose the recent United States missile strike on Syria.

"The United States must not act impulsively, and we must not act unilaterally", Sanders said. Sanders will also discuss how the president has turned his back on the working class people who voted for him. When Sanders was unable to make inroads with the party's "super-delegates", the senator and his faithful talked about the "rigged" party system, and even after the senator endorsed Hillary Clinton and campaigned on her behalf, it was nearly always on the party's terms. Sanders's popularity continues to be a thorn in the Democratic establishment's side, and turning him into an asset has proven a hard balancing act. Meanwhile, the Kerry campaign took the shit being thrown at them without offering fighting back much, and Kerry, in an embarrassing attempt to pander to the stereotype of the right wing, donned a hunter's outfit and went out to get photographed with a shotgun. During his days as a local Burlington politician, Sanders allegedly said his "goal was to destroy Democrats". "It's an investment. If people are getting health care, it's an investment".

Sanders spoke directly to Kentuckians about the Republican's healthcare plan that was voted down by congress.

"Kentuckians have roundly rejected the ultra-liberal, anti-jobs platform of coastal elites like Sanders and Perez", Watson said in a statement.
